WORKSHOP PREP

What to bring to get the best experience

Here are a few things that we suggest you bring with you to the workshops. If you do not have any of these items (or do not know what they are), no worries. We will have loaner products on hand for your use. Some attendees bring their entire patient kit(s) so that they can learn all the different parts and pieces.

  • Assistive Devices

  • Headphones

  • ECHO, AUDIOLINK, APP

  • Patient Kit

RECOMMENDED ITEMS

Active telecoil in your processor/hearing aid. (If you do not know if your telecoil is active, you can contact your audiologist. It is recommended that telecoil be activated prior to attending the workshop. This will enable attendees to take advantage of the great options that are available for them to experiment with.)

FineTuner/Echo Remote Control

FM Sleeve (OPUS 2 or SONNET, SONNET 2) —labeled as “FM Extension Kit” in your patient kit

Audio Cables — yellow plug, red plug or both (if you own them)

AudioLink, ROGER System, QUATTRO, Artone, or any assistive device you own. Be sure to charge them before attending the workshop.

Any audio device you would like to listen to (iPad, Kindle, phone, etc.).

Your Patient Kit – we can help you understand the different components and how to use them

If you wear an OPUS 2

Make sure you bring the Standard Battery Pack (the one that uses 3 batteries) or the Rechargeable Battery Pack.

These are the only two OPUS 2 configurations that work with the FM sleeve.

The OPUS XS (using 2 batteries) is not compatible with the FM sleeve. If you do not own a Standard Battery Pack, we will have some loaners for your use at the workshops.

If you wear a RONDO

If you have Mini Battery Pack for your RONDO, please bring that. (This will allow you to use audio cables and other direct-audio input devices). If you do not own a Mini Battery Pack, we will have some loaners for your use at the workshops.

Bring your backup SONNET or OPUS 2 (if you have one), and be sure to bring the FM sleeves for these processors.

If you wear a SONNET

If you use the rechargeable battery, you may want to bring the Standard Rechargeable Battery Pack.

The smaller Micro rechargeable battery will have a shorter battery life while connected to the FM Sleeve.
